The Caesar was invented in 1969 by restaurant manager Walter Chell of the Calgary Inn (today the Westin Hotel) in Calgary, Alberta. Chell devised the cocktail after being tasked to create a signature drink for the Calgary Inn’s new Italian restaurant. He mixed vodka with clam and tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, and other spices, creating a drink similar to a Bloody Mary, but with a uniquely spicy flavour. Our Pepper Pot vodka takes this famous cocktail to the next level and is sure to become a favorite go-to when you are craving a spicy Caesar!
The Caesar is a cocktail created and consumed primarily in Canada. It typically contains vodka, Clamato, hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, and is served with ice in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, typically garnished with a stalk of celery and a wedge of lime. The ingredients you’ll need are:
-
2oz Pepper Pot Spiced Vodka
- Lime Juice
-
Clamato/Caesar Mix
-
Caesar Rimmer
- Celery Stalk
Take your highball glass and rim with lime juice, and Caesar rimmer. Then add in 2oz Pepper Pot Spiced Vodka. Top with Mix and garnish with pickles, onions or candied bacon! For an added kick, try Montreal Steak Spice as the rimmer, or add a couple dashes of liquid smoke! Don’t forget the celery!
